The one thing I do like about a property tax is that the taxpayer does have a choice. Even if you can afford to live in hillcrest you could choose to live less lavishly and pay a lesser property tax. I feel the property tax gives the taxpayer options. The seven that don't are Alaska (gets most revenue from the severance tax), Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Texas, Washington and Wyoming. Two others, New Hampshire and Tennessee, tax only dividend and interest income.<BR/><BR/>As far as corporate income taxes, 45 states have them.
