Thanks for correcting me on that point. And that leads me to another observation regarding the ranking as 10th best for energy costs.

The Ledge (SB119, $162 million a year) and the Governor ($13.4 million reduction the first year) want to solve our economic problems by cutting taxes on corporate utility bills at the expense of general revenues for public education. Why not start by addressing some of the areas where we are ranked low instead of rushing to appease business with more gifts from the public treasury?

After reading about layoffs within the last few months in Ft. Smith, Marianna, North Little Rock, and my hometown of Texarkana, I expect this ranking to plummet.

And, in a state with billionaires and no estate tax, we're 4th in mass layoffs and 45th in annual worker pay? That Chamber backed Right-to-Work-for-Less policy touted by ADED might also need a reality check.

Or the Ledge could just pass some more corporate welfare subsidies and tax breaks for business while keeping the sales tax on groceries.
