"Mini-trucks" on Arkansas roads

Legislation may be filed in the next legislative session that would allow mini-trucks,which are sold as off-road vehicles, to legally be driven on state roads. Farmers have begun using the vehicles because they get good gas mileage. The proposal was brought before yesterday's Transportation Committee meeting by Rep. Scott Sullivan (D-DeQueen). Here's more from the Arkansas News Bureau.
The proposal would prohibit these trucks from being driven on the interstate. These mini-trucks are currently street legal in some form in Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Utah, and Wyoming. They can be purchased for around $5,500, and they get around 40-50 mpg. The proposed Arkansas legislation will be patterned after Oklahoma's law, which is one of three states that does not impose a speed restriction (other than the posted speed limit). Most other state with a mini-truck law impose a speed restriction of 35 mph and restrict use to city streets.

I am for it. Most other countries in the world have vehicles and roads that are scaled down from ours anyway.
I am "pro-choice" on mini-trucks. The life they are risking is their own.
I probably am, too. Main concern I have is whether those ATV tires will hold up on wet pavement, especially turning or stopping at high speeds.
I believe they are safer than motorcycles, and they have everything needed to be street legal, so let them, they will do the speed limits, just cant see why they would not let them, i mean just on the basis of comparing them to a motorcycle, or a seems to be smaller smart car. My brother has one and it stops great. Plus the state would benefit from the extra tags and registration fees.
CONCERNING MINITRUCKS..WHY DON'T SOME ONE "UNDER THE DOME" PLEASE DO SOMETHING CONCERNING THE MINITRUCKS. THEY ARE JUST AS SAFE AS U.S. MAIL TRUCKS. THERE ARE SOME FOLKS RIDING AROUND TOWN IN A WHEEL CHAIR. THE BIG RED ATV CAN CAM IS STREET LEGAL WITH ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES. SO, WE ARE WAITING WITH BAITED BREATHE FOR SOME OF YOU GUYS TO PUT SOMETHING ON THE FLOOR...THANKS JOHN
