Susan McDougal for District 7 (Jeffrey's seat). I don't think she's announced, but she's being urged to.
David Johnson, Representative for Distict 38, has announced for Senator Jim Argue's term-limited seat, leaving District 38 open.
Uvalde Lindsey has announced as a Democrat for Dist 88 (Marilyn Edwards seat).
Jamie Darling (D) is running for District 58
A fellow named Aaron Wolfe has expressed interest in Aaron Burkes' seat.
I'd like to talk to Mr. Burkes. I thought he did a fine job of representing that district. We need guys like him to stay in the system.
the searcy sun is reporting that monty betts, an educator for over 30 years in white county, will run for the vacant district 50 seat.
Little Rock Vice Mayor Stacy Hurst is considering the District 38 seat.
Re District 88, Steve Zega can't make up his mind - one day he's running for the House, the next day County Judge, and then the next day Circuit Judge. Whatever he decides he'll have a hard time.
Well, it looks as if the Arkansas Association of Educational Adminstrators have a well-planned agenda to pack the Arkansas House of Representatives with school superintendents.
Les Carnine of Springdale (he was called "Car 'Seven'" by the teachers of the Texarkana district when he was superintendent there a few years back...a derogatory play on his name that indicated a lack of trust in his abilities), Darrell Porter of Smackover, Monty Betts of White County Central, and Keith Williams of Beebe are all from the good old boys club of school superintendents.
Remember the school superintendents? They were the hoggish lot that couldn't seem to get enough money to run their districts, so they sued and got the Supreme court to reopen the Lake View lawsuit against the State of Arkansas. You see, they simply needed more money to "fund their 'poor' districts" (read this to mean as needing more money for high school athletics and to provide themselves grossly higher salaries and more benefits than their teachers receive). In that regard, let me remind you of Danny Taylor, a former Russellville superintendent, who retired last year and walked away with hundreds of thousands of dollars in cashed-in annual sick leave, vacation time, etc.
It will certainly be interesting to watch this blog for news of more superintendents throwing their hats into the ring for various legislative seats around the state.
Good God, how can we allow any of them to be elected? There is only so much blood that can be sucked from the taxpayers of Arkansas.
Jamie Darling hasn't announced for District 58. Jody Dickinson hasn't announced either for District 58.
Question marks needed....
I've talked to them both. They're in.
Whats the word that the republican chair was thinking about running for Janet Johnson's seat? I remember reading about it a few months ago.
Todd Parent, a former NLR Police Officer, is going to run against Ed Garner in District 41 I hear. Parent is young and his issues fit the district.
Earl Hunton is going to run against Mark Martin in the western part of Washington County.
brett hooton is running against jim lagrone for district 29 in the primary
Mayor George Hallman of Ben Lomond is in the race for House District 21. Here's the announcement:

Is anybody definitely in the House District 38 race? Since David Johnson is running for the Senate, the seat is open. I figured that might be a crowded race, but I haven't heard anyone who is definitely in. Anyone have any news?
Steve,
I think you might need to make a slight correction on your list of term limited State Representatives. You show Mark Pate as a Republican...this is probably news to him as he has always been a Democrat.
Oops, sorry about that last post re Mark Pate...my bad. You have him listed correctly as a D.
It looks like Brett Hooton in District 29 has announced. The article is at http://www.bentoncourier.com/content/view/89137/ and the website is www.hootonforstaterep.com
I know he is a love/hate type of person but I really want Drew Pritt to run against Fred Allen for the State Legislature. He has some good ideas and would be a breath of fresh air for District # 33.
I have heard Ray Dotson is thinking of running in Springdale
Word in District 72 (Batesville) is that Charles Barnett is not running and James McLean is being encouraged to run by local interests.
That is interesting news from Independence County. Mr. McLean is well liked and serves as a J.P.
That would be a heck of a race in District 72.
Ray Dotson is thinking about running for mayor of Springdale. Only mayor....
I am a Constitutionalist and therefore have a more simpler but honest straighforward approach to what it takes to be a representative. Simple it is all about "We the People"
My hopes for success this year will boil down to how serious the people are about their God given rights to determine their own futures.
I wont do as my challegers State "continue the works of Benny Petrus" Our futures are more important than that.
I leave you with todays Quote:
“Every voter ought not merely to vote, but to vote under the inspiration of a high purpose to serve the nation. It has been calculated that in most elections only about half of them entitled to vote actually exercise their franchise. What is worse, a considerable part of those who neglect to vote do it because of a curious assumption of superiority to this elementary duty of the citizen. They presume to be rather too good, too exclusive, to soil their hands with the work of politics... Popular government is facing one of the difficult phases of the perpetual trial to which it always has been and always will be subjected. It needs the support of every element of patriotism, intelligence and capacity that can be summoned.” —Calvin Coolidge
District 29's Bud Lidzy has a website. http://www.budforarkansas.com
Ann Clemmer announced for Dist 29
Urging Constitution Party and third party folks to challenge all unopposed positions for the House and Senate as WRITE-INs .Make the incumbent work for his keep. I Pray that this is the year of the Third Party.
Rumor has it that Yancey Kyle, who just lost the District 7 runoff to Garry Smith, will be moving closer to his hometown of El Dorado to run for the District 6 seat in two years.
Here are the Green Party candidates missing from your list:
